Fine Gael councillor Enda McGloin says they're a big drawback when it comes to attracting tourism and investment.

The music group also visited the grave of Roscommon-born songwriter, author, poet and entertainer Percy French in the graveyard of St Luke’s Church in Formby, around 14 miles from Liverpool city centre.

The walk will start at 10.30am from Clarence Dock, where 1.3 million Irish emigrants arrived during the famine.

It comes 15 years after record floods caused millions of euro worth of damage to homes and businesses in the town.

There are two county finals down for decision tomorrow while the 'Dead of Night' Halloween event is also taking place.

The Independent councillor was re-elected to Roscommon County Council in June receiving close to 1,400 first preference votes.

They include 16 in both Longford and Leitrim, and 15 in Roscommon.
