Friday 3rd January 2025. Retired Defence Forces. Peacefully in the loving presence of his family in the excellent care of the staff in the ICU at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, 3 days after his 80th birthday.
Pre-deceased by his parents Anthony and Margaret McLaughlin and siblings Rose (McBride), John and Tony.
Beloved husband for 58 years of Annette (nee Warde, Baylough). Cherished father of Enda, Fiona Connolly and Karen Dempsey. Much loved father-in-law to Michelle Jessop, John and Paul. Dearly loved grandfather to Cian, Thomas, Caleb and Gabriel McLaughlin, Lauren, Evan, Megan and Rachel Connolly, Kate and Adam Dempsey. Great-grandfather to Teddy Troute and Mabel Connolly Griffin. Sadly missed by his family, brother in law Nick Warde, Baylough, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, ex colleagues and neighbours.

Reposing at the Strand Funeral Home (N37 WY17) on Monday evening from 4pm to 6pm. Mass of the resurrection on Tuesday at 11am in Ss. Peter and Paul's Church, followed by Burial in Kiltoom cemetery.
Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Portiuncula Hospital Patient Comfort Fund.
