Sr Assunta Tiernan passed away on Sunday, 22nd October 2023, peacefully in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Francis' Ward, Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe.

Predeceased by her parents Annie & Peter and her twin brother Pat (Ballinasloe).

Deeply regretted by sister Agnes Kelly (Gort), Kathleen Galvin (Castlefrench) and Margaret Nolan (Ballygar), her brothers Peter (Carlow) and Larry (Four Roads), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, friends and the Sisters of Mercy Western Province.

Reposing at Dún Mhuire, Lyster Street, Athlone (N37 E3V5) on Tuesday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock with removal to S.S. Peter & Paul’s Church arriving 7-15 o’clock. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11 o’clock, followed by burial in the Convent of Mercy Cemetery, Roscommon.
