37 projects across 18 schools in the Shannonside Northern Sound region have qualified for the 2022 BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.
The virtual exhibition will be held between the 12th and 14th of January
2022.
Entries were received from over 2,700 students, and the shortlisted entries
span 219 schools from 29 counties.
Climate change and the environment were featured in over 150 projects, while
over 140 projects examine either Covid-19 or other health-related issues.
Co Roscommon leads the way locally, with 14 projects shortlisted, followed
by Co Monaghan with eight nominated projects.
Elsewhere in the region, six projects are shortlisted from Co Cavan, five
from Co Leitrim, and four across Co Longford.
