A well-known Longford factory has announced 100 new jobs as part of a major expansion.
C&D Foods in Edgeworthstown is one of Europe's largest producers of specially formulated dog and cat foods.
The company has announced the new jobs at the Longford facility along with an investment of 48 million euro.
Earlier this year, the pet food factory received planning permission for a significant expansion.
The approved plans include the construction of an extension for new ground floor production facilities connecting to the existing production area, and a first floor extension.
Also included in the application is the demolition of single storey soft can building and toilet block.
The company was founded by former Taoiseach and Longford man Albert Reynolds, whose son Phillip ran the family business until 2019.
