11am update: Almost 1,000 local homes and business still without power

Almost 1,000 homes and businesses in the Shannonside region remain without power after Storm Ashley yesterday.

In the Roscommon/east Galway area, there are outages in Fairymount, Elphin, Boyle, Glenamaddy, Rahara, Rooskey, Brideswell, Ballaghaderreen and Knockvicar.

Longford isn't as badly hit, but there are blackouts still in Granard and Legan.

In Leitrim, there are outages in Keshcarrigan, Fenagh, Ballinamore, Leitrim village and Drumshanbo.

Siobhan Wynne, from ESB Networks, says teams are working to restore the power as soon as possible.
