A total of 126 people living in the Shannonside region received Irish citizenship in a special ceremony this month.
They were among the 6,000 new citizens who attended the ceremony in the INEC in Killarney.
Longford saw the highest amount of new Irish citizens, with 55 people gaining the honour, closely followed by 50 new citizens in Roscommon.
A total of 21 people in Leitrim gave the Declaration of Fidelity to the Irish nation.
The home nations of the new citizens include India, the UK, Brazil, Poland, Nigeria and the Philippines.
In order to qualify for citizenship, a person must meet criteria such as having legally lived in Ireland for five years, be married to or in a civil partnership with an Irish citizen or be the child of an Irish citizen.
