It's 127 days since the Irish people went to the polls to vote in the 33rd Dail - the largest number of days to form a coalition Government in the history of the State.

The text of a deal is expected to be finalised later today, or it may go into tomorrow.

One of the Green negotiators last night said, there were still issues on transport, housing and finance yet to be ironed out, with it reported there was a push for light-rail in Galway Limerick and Cork.

It's believed Fine Gael and Fianna Fail are willing to make concessions to the Green Party for their support on carbon tax and to speed up the National Broadband Plan.

The tax on fossil fuels is to go up by 100 euro over the next 10 years, according to the Sunday Independent - more than what the Fine Gael and Fianna Fail negotiators planned.

While a poll in the Sunday Times shows 48 percent of people would like to see Leo Varadkar continue as Taoiseach for the next couple of years - with Micheal Martin on 18 percent.
