132 people homeless locally in June

A new report from the Government shows that 132 people are currently homeless across the Shannonside region.

The emergency accommodation figures for June reveal that 48 people across Roscommon and Mayo are without a home while a further 41 are staying in temporary lodgings in Westmeath.

In the Leitrim-Donegal area 29 people are homeless while Longford is recording the lowest figure nationally at 14.

The majority of those accessing temporary accommodation in the region were aged between 25 and 44.
