1,659 people remain on PUP across the Shannonside region

3,600 people remain on the pandemic unemployment payment across the Shannonside Northern Sound region.

The figure peaked in May 2020 with over 31,000 people receiving the support locally.

Cavan has the highest level in the region at present with 986 people drawing the payment.

That's followed by Monaghan where 968 people remain on the PUP.

In Roscommon, 726 payments are due this week compared to it's peak of 7,500 in 2020.

533 people in Longford and 400 in Leitrim remain in receipt of the payment respectively.
