The planned extension to the refugee centre in Ballaghaderreen involves 18 extra bedrooms.
Some locals are strongly opposing the planning application.
The Abbeyfield Hotel on the Sligo Road in Ballaghaderreen has been an emergency reception and orientation centre for refugees for the past eight years.
Next Week and Company is looking to extend it.
Details of their proposals have now been lodged with Roscommon County Council.
They include a two-storey extension behind the hotel, on the Gorteen side.
On the ground floor, there’d be a general-purpose room, along with seven en suite bedrooms, each around 22 square metres or so.
On the first floor, there’d be 11 en suite bedrooms, all of which would be between 20 and 31 square metres.
A new corridor would link the existing hotel with this new extension.
The plans also include an AstroTurf pitch and a kids play area.
The council is expected to decide on the application early in the new year.
