A new report from the Government shows that 180 people are currently homeless across the Shannonside Northernsound region.
The emergency accommodation figures for August reveal that there are 17 less people homeless in counties Longford, Roscommon, Leitrim, Donegal and Mayo than in July of this year.
In Cavan, Monaghan and Louth 103 people were staying in temporary lodgings in August, compared to 96 the previous month.
The majority of these people were aged between 25 and 44.
The report also highlighted a rise in the number people accessing emergency accommodation in hotels, B&B's, family hubs, hostels and other residential facilities.
Nationally, there has also been a slight increase with 8,212 people now homeless compared to 8,132 people in the previous month.
