200 thousand euro worth of cannabis has been discovered following a number of searches in County Galway.
Gardai have seized €35,000 worth of drugs in Ballinasloe.
A man in his 40s was arrested in relation to this seizure and was released yesterday evening without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Cannabis jellies and €7,510 in cash were also seized and all drugs will be forwarded for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
Seperaterly, the Galway Divisional Drug Unit seized €146,000 worth of drugs in Aughrim.
Two men (both 30s) were arrested at the scene in connection with the investigation and are currently detained at Galway Garda station.
€20,000 worth of cannabis herb which will now be sent for analysis while both men remain in custody.
Both seizures form part of Operation Tara; an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched in 2021.
