Over 2,000 people are without power across the Shannonside Northern Sound region this evening due to worsening weather conditions
Storm Dudley made landfall in Ireland this afternoon, with a yellow wind warning in place until half-11 tonight.
The north west is expected to see the strongest winds - with gusts reaching as high as 110 kilometres an hour.
Close to 900 people are without power in Castlerea in Roscommon, while 800 homes and businesses in Belturbet in Cavan have lost their supply.
ESB Ireland is also reporting scattered pockets of outages across, Longford, Leitrim and Monaghan.
It comes ahead of another storm set to hit the country on Friday - with a combined yellow snow, rain and wind warning being issued for the entire country.
