Over €800,000 has been allocated to projects in the Shannonside region in the latest round of Clár funding.
The CLÁR programme provides funding for small scale infrastructure projects in rural areas that have suffered significant levels of population decline.
€834,230 has been designated for 21 projects across the region.
The largest allocation has gone to Leitrim, where seven projects will receive funds between €18,000 and €50,000, with Bornacoola GAA and Anaduff National School receiving the largest local amounts at€50,000 each.
That's followed by Roscommon at €270,000 with Camloon NS, Croghan NS and Ballymoe & District Angling club each getting a €50,000 slice of the funds.
Longford has been allocated €244,000 between 7 projects, with €50,000 awarded to Colehill Community Group.
Nationally, €4.2 million in funding has been announced today for schools, sports clubs, playgrounds and community organisations.
Minister of State and Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan is welcoming the allocations.
