A total of 526 people have returned to work in the Shannonside Northern Sound region this week according to new figures from the Department of Social Protection.
Its part of a national decrease of almost 10,000 people claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.
The number of people on the PUP has now dropped below 200,000 for the first time.
Cavan has the highest level of people closing their claims with 159 people coming off the payment this week.
That's followed by Roscommon where 130 recipients stopped their support.
In Monaghan, 107 people returned to work this week.
While Longford and Leitrim saw 73 and 57 fewer PUP claims when compared to last week.
