Remedial actions on a number of water supplies in the Shannonside region are still required according to a new report.
One water supply in Longford has been on the Environmental Protection Agency's list for over three years
The Drinking Water Quality in Public Supply report for 2022 analyses the level of bacteria and chemicals in public drinking water.
It also shows supplies that are on the EPA's Remedial Action List, which are “at-risk” supplies that require significant corrective action,
According to the report, 2 supplies in Longford and 1 in Roscommon are on the Action List.
The Longford Central supply, which supplies over 15-thousand people, was added to the list in 2020 and upgrade works on the water treatment plant are still yet to be completed.
A completion date is still being awaited.
Elsewhere, the Granard supply was also added to the list in quarter 2 of last year, with the nature of the work required still needing to be submitted to Uisce Éireann.
In Roscommon, the North East Regional Supply was added to the Remedial Action List over 2 years ago and the completion date and type of work required is not yet available.
All supplies listed were required to complete upgrade works after elevated THM levels were found in the water.
Nationally, 58 supplies are on the 'at risk' list.
