46,000 farmers to be included on ACRES scheme

The Minister for Agriculture has confirmed that all 46,000 applicants for the new ACRES environmental scheme for farmers, are to be included in the scheme.

This represents all valid applications made to the scheme last year.

The Minister says that applicants can expect to hear from the Department in the coming days and farmers should wait until they receive their letters before contacting the Department or their advisor.
