50 primary schools across the region to benefit from Hot School Meals Programme

50 primary schools across the Shannonside region will benefit from the Hot School Meals Programme which begins from April next year. The Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys announced that 900 primary schools have been approved for the programme.

27 schools in Roscommon will benefit from the programme whilst 12 and 11 schools in Longford and Leitrim have also been approved respectively. Longford-Westmeath TD Joe Flaherty has welcomed the expansion of the scheme to more schools as over 150,000 children nationwide are set to benefit from it.
