The first 6 months of 2021 has seen the highest levels of .ie domain registrations created here on record for a 6 month period.
According to the latest .IE Domain Profile Report there was almost 600 new .ie domains registered in the first half of this year across the Shannonside Region.
In Roscommon there were 258 new .ie domains launched which was an increase of 10 percent on the first six months of 2020.
Longford had 173 .ie domains created for the same period which was up by 23.6 percent, meanwhile Leitrim had 156 new .ie web addresses generated which was a 4.3 percent decrease on the same period last year.
There was a 64% increase in new .ie web addresses with 'outdoor summer' keywords and 18.8% increase in web addresses with health-related issues.
The .ie domain holds 51% market share of all hosted top-level domains in Ireland, ahead of .com
