Longford saw the most commencement notices in the first 2 months, with 31 submitted to the county council.
The majority of these were part of residential developments, while 4 were once off notices.
In Roscommon, the council were alerted to 25 notices, 12 of which were once off housing.
While in Leitrim, just 7 commencement notices were received in January and February, 3 of these falling under the classification of one off housing.
Nationally, Kildare and Kilkenny had the highest number outside of the major cities.
