Almost three in every four Leaving Cert students in the Shannonside region went on to third-level education this year.
This data, published in the Irish Independent, provides a breakdown of where pupils from Leaving Certificate classes enroll in a third-level college in Ireland.
It doesn't include the many school-leavers who went on to post-leaving cert courses or apprenticeships.
The figures show almost 72 per cent of Leaving Cert students in Roscommon, Longford and Leitrim went on to third-level this year - up marginally from just over 71 per cent last year.
The average in the seven schools in Leitrim this year was 72 per cent - unchanged from last year.
Both Ballinamore Community School and St Clare's Comprehensive in Manorhamilton had rates of 95 per cent this year.
The average across the nine schools in Longford this year was 68 per cent - up from 65 per cent last year.
The highest this year was 94 per cent in Meán Scoil Mhuire in Longford town, followed by 88 per cent in Mercy Secondary School in Ballymahon.
The average across the eight schools in Roscommon this year was 76 per cent - down slightly from 77 per cent last year.
The highest this year was the Convent of Mercy in Roscommon, at 92 per cent, 1 percentage point ahead of CBS Roscommon.
