A total of 80 derelict sites are registered with county Councils in the Shannonside region.
Data released by the Department of Housing reveals just four notices of levies were issued to owners of properties in 2020.
Local Authorities are required to submit an annual return to the Department providing information on the operation of the Derelict Sites Act 1990 in their areas.
Owners of such properties can then be billed by the County Council for levies associated with the properties.
According to the latest data from the Department of housing, 36 derelict sites were on the register in Longford and Leitrim as of the end of December 20202.
In Roscommon, just eight sites were classified as derelict in the county.
The derelict site returns are collected in Q2 of the following year and just four notices were issued in 2020 - all in Longford.
However, data shows that no money was collected by any local authority in the Shannonsdie region in respect of a derelict site levy that year.
