Nine people have been arrested and over €40,000 worth of drugs and cash have been seized by Gardaí in Ballinasloe.
Gardaí and Detectives from the Galway Division, along with Regional Support Units and Dog Units conducted searches across 5 residential properties and a horse stables in the area yesterday
Operation Clean Streets targets the distribution of illegal drugs in the Ballinasloe Community Area.
As part of efforts to dismantle a locally based criminal network, Gardaí arrested seven men and two women for a number of offences.
The operation involved involved more than 60 Gardaí and Detectives from units including the Armed Response Unit and Dog Unit.
Drug seizures included €9,500 worth of cocaine and €11,500 worth of cannabis, with a Drugs Press and other drugs paraphernalia also taken.
Gardaí also confiscated a number of bladed implements during the searched including a machete.
Two men have been charged and will appear before a special sitting of Loughrea District Court this morning.
