The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 1,361 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
As of 8 o' clock this morning 160 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 26 are in ICU.
The head of the HSE says about 70 per cent of people in hospital with Covid were admitted for treatment of the virus.
The government had requested better data around Covid patients, as some people catch the virus in hospital, or may be treated for something else and test positive while in care.
