A former senator has praised a water amenity for the economic boost it has brought to Drumshanbo.
Acres Lake Amenity Centre celebrated its 40th anniversary since its establishment over the weekend. The recreational space was the first in Connaught to have a heated outdoor swimming pool.
The centre has constantly been expanding over the years, with Minister Catherine Martin recently announcing a €1.2 million investment in a new water sports facility at the lake. Fianna Fáil politician and former member of the Seanad, Paschal Mooney, explained that the new investment will lay the groundwork for an even more solid economy in Drumshanbo:
