The annual report from the farmers journal breaks down the average cost of farming land per acre in 2022 and the change from 2021 into last year. The report shows that Leitrim had the lowest average cost per acre in the country at €5,568 per acre. This represents a 9% decrease in price compared to 2021. This is followed by Longford at €8,472 per acre, a slight change from the previous years average of €8,544.
Roscommon had the most expensive price per acre at €8,882 per acre, representing an 11% increase on 2021's figure of €7,968. In the Republic of Ireland, Dublin had the most expensive average price at €19,312 per acre
