Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern says it's important the fears of law-abiding citizens are heard amid ongoing anti-immigration protests.
The former Fianna Fáil leader is in Roscommon today to deliver a keynote speech at the Percy French Festival in Castlecoote.
Mr Ahern is delivering a talk on the topic of a New Ireland at this years festival, where the theme is Our Great Disconnect.
The former Fianna Fáil leader addressed recent violence in Coolock in Dublin and threats against leading political figures including Mary Lou McDonald.
