ALDI is investing almost €2 million euro to retrofit its Longford and Roscommon stores under it's Project Fresh programme.
Both supermarkets are expected to benefit from an array of energy-saving infrastructure upgrades through the Project.
In the Longford Aldi store in the town, new chiller doors will be used to reduce energy consumption by 20%, while LED lights will reduce energy use by 60%.
The Roscommon store will see the latest generation of new CO2 refrigeration packs installed to reduce energy usage.
The compnay says savings will also be reinvested into the stores.
