A do not swim notice has been issued for a popular bathing spot in County Leitrim.
The local authority says it's unsafe for humans and animals to enter Keeldra Lake due to the presence of algal bloom.
It’s caused by too many nutrients in the water and can look like streaks, spilled green/blue paint, pea soup, floating chumps or dots.
The council are also warning pet owners not to allow their animals to drink from the lake.
The presence of algal bloom was also found at the busy amenity last Summer and anyone who accidentally comes in contact with the algae-like bacteria is advised to shower as soon as possible.
