Close to 10% of people in the Shannonside region have never used the Internet according to a new report.
Figures released from the Central Statistics Office show 90% of people in the Midlands and the Mid-west have used the web in the last 3 months
Just 1% claimed they had logged on previously in the past, with 9% stating they'd not used the Internet in their lives at all.
The figures from last year closely match those in 2021, with Roscommon and Leitrim reporting a higher level of those claiming to have never gone online.
Internet access is still an issue for parts of rural Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon, with works ongoing on the rollout of the National Broadband Plan.
Works to connect 6,300 homes and businesses in the region to high speed Internet were completed before Christmas, with the lines expected to be activated this month.
