Almost 120 drivers seriously injured on region's roads in last five years

Almost 120 drivers were seriously injured on roads in the Shannonside region in the space of five years. According to the Road Safety Authority, there were 47 in both Roscommon and Longford, and 24 in Leitrim.

Almost 2,400 drivers were seriously injured on Irish roads between 2019 and 2023. Sinn Fein TD for Sligo-Leitrim, Martin Kenny, says mobile phone use is leading to a lot of crashes.
