Almost 1,700 arrests in Shannonside region for drugs offences over last ten years

There have been almost 1,700 arrests for drugs offences in the Shannonside region over the past 10 years.
There were over 1,300 in Roscommon, Longford and Mayo between 2015 and 2024 - with 105 last year.

And there were 344 arrests under the Misuse of Drugs Act in Leitrim and Sligo in the same period - with 29 last year.
Sligo-Leitrim TD and former junior drugs minister, Frank Feighan, says the issue is being tackled.
