Bird collision likely cause of power outage in Tarmonbarry area

The ESB says it's likely that last nights power outage in the Tarmonbarry area was caused by a swan colliding with a powerline.

An overhead power line along the River Shannon was broken in the incident and the ESB says it impacted on around 270 properties.

They say the damage caused a single outage that was dealt with in two stages and it's hoed that everyone should have power restored very shortly.
