According to figures released by Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys, the government has provided €49.4 million for the scheme in 2023.
The current maximum weekly personal rate of payment under the scheme is €226 per week.
As of May of this year, Leitrim holds the highest claims at 190, followed by Roscommon with 146 recipients of the scheme.
There are 87 people availing of the scheme in Longford.
Westmeath currently holds the lowest amount of claimants, with only 48 recipients.
In total, there are 471 claimants across the region, while nationally 4277 farmers avail of the scheme.
