Two local Hospitals are under significant pressure as 78 people are waiting for a hospital bed in the Shannonside Northern Sound Region this morning. The Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital is the fourth busiest in the country today with 39 people waiting. The Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar is also under pressure today with 24 people waiting for a bed.
Our Lady's Hospital in Drogheda has 15 people waiting according to the INMO. Meanwhile, Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe and Cavan General Hospital had no patients on trolleys as of this morning. Nationally, 545 people are waiting for beds in hospitals around the country this morning with 100 waiting in University Hospital Limerick.
