Almost €300,000 was spent on providing facilities and staff for last year's general election counts in the Shannonside region.
The highest spend was related to the count of votes in the Longford-Westmeath constituency which cost over €125,000
Voting in General Election 2020 took place on Saturday February 8th - with counting getting underway from 9am the following morning.
All eyes in the Longford-Westmeath constituency centered on the John Count McCormack Hall, whose hire cost a total of €9354 with a further €21,143 spent on its fit out.
The biggest expenditure associated with the two day count was 'pay' which cost a total of €85,443.76
The cost of food came in at €8273 with the final bill to the state for the count at €125,626.95.
The Sligo-Leitrim election count took place at the Park hotel in Sligo and its total cost came in at €101,294.
Again the majority of the money spent on pay again at a total of €80,813.60.
The hire of the venue accounted for €4252 with its fit out amounting to a bill of €8195 and food worth €6699 invoiced to the state.
The Roscommon-Galway count was also a two day affair - but its costs were much lower than its counterparts in Sligo and Westmeath -.
The final bill for the activities at the Hyde centre was €65,846.69- including €47,348 spent on pay for staff - as well as just over 4,000 on food and €9459 on its hire form the GAA
It's fit out also cost €1,888.28 as well as €3,000 which was spent on conveying of documents and communications for count.
Overall the department of local government spent a total of €292,768.55 on the three election counts in the region.
