Almost €370,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in Athlone

Almost €370,000 worth of contraband has been seized by Revenue officers in Athlone. They uncovered 18.4 kilos of herbal cannabis while examining parcels last week. The parcels came from Spain, and the find is estimated to be worth €368,200.

The discovery comes following a separate seizure of over 10 kilos of herbal cannabis worth €208,800 in Athlone the previous week. Meanwhile, various other drugs, worth an estimated €95,000, were found concealed in parcels in Dublin. Close to €53,000 worth of counterfeit goods - including handbags, sunglasses and runners - were also seized.
