Almost 40,000 euro was spent on hosting the National Famine Commemoration at Strokestown Park House this year.
The event took place on the 15th of May and it was the second time the event has been hosted at the historic Roscommon site.
According to details released to Shannonside FM, a total of €39,166.08 was spent on the event including OPW costs of €35,000, and costs related to the Irish heritage trust of just over €3,000.
The event was also televised and a sign language interpreter was paid a total of €432.06 for their work at the annual event.
