Almost €400,000 in funding has been announced for monuments and heritage projects across the Shannonside region.
Projects in Roscommon have received the most funding at €160,000
The Community Monuments fund aims to support conservation , maintenance, protection, and promotion of local monuments and historic sites.
The scheme offers three funding streams to support a broad range of measures, including emergency conservation repair works at monuments, masonry repair, and communication projects.
A total of €380,000 has been allocated to projects across Longford, Leitrim, and Roscommon.
€120,000 of this has gone to projects in Leitrim with St Mogue's Abbey receiving just over €95,000 and Curraghs South Church receiving €30,000.
Cloondara Medieval Ruin in Longford has been allocated €100,000.
While in Roscommon, €160,000 is being provided to 4 projects
Ballintubber castle is being given €100,000, Coolshanville Abbey will get just under €29,000, while Elphin Cathedral has been allocated €18,450, and Oran Ecclesiastical Site will receive €17,651.
