An Bord Pleanála has upheld planning permission for a 36 metre telecommunications mast to be constructed in Roscommon.
Cignal Infrastructure Ltd applied to Roscommon County Council for the development at Ballymurray.
The local authority originally granted planning permission in June with five conditions attached, despite a number of submissions from locals against the project.
An appeal was subsequently launched by residents in the area over concerns of the mast's height, with one submission comparing the height of the structure to Croke Park.
An Bord Pleanala granted the permission with six revised conditions, including the submission of a detailed traffic management plan in the interest of road safety.
