An Bord Pleanala is reported to have withdrawn its appeal against a High Court Judges decision regarding the proposed Derryadd Wind Farm.
The proposed 24 wind tribune project from Bord Na Mona has been the subject of opposition since it was first mooted and a campaign has been underway since.
The proposed turbines would be 185 metres high from blade tip to the ground and residents argue they would have a hugely detrimental impact on the local landscape and wildlife.
Bord Pleanala gave permission for the development in June of 2020, but that was subsequently appealed to the High Court by the residents group.
The High Court ruled last summer that the planning application did not contain enough detail, and overturned the decision.
An Bord Pleanala had lodged an appeal against that decision, but it's not been withdrawn.
The No to Derryadd Windfarm Group is welcoming the latest development and says a statement will be issued in the coming days.
