Gardaí are patrolling public transport services across the region today, as part of Operation Twin Track.

Roscommon Road Policing Unit were on patrol in Clonark in the county when they were alerted that a car had no NCT.

It comes after hundreds attended a protest in the town following an alleged assault on a teenager.

The warning follows reports that bogus callers were targeting homes in one town.

The incident occurred at around 10.35pm.

The man in his 30s appeared before Longford District Court yesterday charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Emergency services attended the scene of the collision on the N55 near Ballymahon at around 8 o'clock yesterday evening.

The alert was issued for a blue 161 BMW which was seen on the N5 near the Frenchpark area.
