Annual property prices rise by €17,000 in Longford

Leitrim auctioneer Gordon Hughes says a shortage of homes is driving up prices.

The average price of a home in Co Longford has increased by €17,000 in the space of a year.

It was €178,000 in the year to October 2023 - but it rose to €195,000 in the next 12 months.

There was a €16,000 increase in Co Roscommon in the same period, to €203,000 this October.

And CSO stats show the figure rose by €8,000 in Co Leitrim, going to €188,000 two months ago.
