Issues with problem behaviour have been highlighted at the Royal Canal and the Albert Reynolds Peace Park.

Over 100 complaints of anti social behaviour were reported on local train routes in 2022

Local Councillor Frankie Keena has called for a review into local by-laws to grant Gardaí more powers to deal with the issues.

The issues was first raised a municipal district meeting two weeks ago.

A Leitrim Councillor says locals are at their wits end and he’s particularly concerned for elderly residents. 

It's a rise on 2021 figures.

Locals have raised concerns over privacy, anti-social behaviour and land segregation along the route.

Martin Kenny outlined that he has been contacted several times by passengers on local trains who have witnessed open drug abuse and violence.
