People living in Leitrim who have some time to spare are being asked to consider volunteering at the local Hospice and Council for the Blind charity shops which are re-opening in tandem with non-essential retail this week.
The shops are a huge source of income for the charities and the money raised goes towards providing services which would not otherwise be possible for those who need them.
Josephine Stroker who's manager of the newly opened Leitrim Volunteer Centre says the charity shops badly need staff to help out, and she's appealing to people to register with the national volunteering database I-VOL now so they could be ready to help out in a few weeks.
