A local commuinity organisation for children is seeking help following two serious burglaries in recent weeks.
The Attic House is a popular Youth and Community facility for teens, operating from the Ballinalee road in Longford Town.
24 chrome book laptops, specialised headphones and a number of cameras were taken from the house in the last number of weeks, with the theft discovered this morning following a separate incident.
According to management, the sheds at the Attic House were also broken into yesterday evening with a number of items taken including a new BBQ and lawnmower.
It's reported that those involved emptied the large recycling bin at the house in order to transport the stolen goods.
Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who saw anyone moving a blue wheelie bin out the Ballinalee Road or in the Ardnacassa area surrounding the Social Welfare Offices, is asked to contact Gardaí.
Ruth McGarry Quinn from the Attic House says this is a huge blow for the service and the children they work with:
'We have been down at the Attic House since 2015 and we have never had any incidents at all.
All of these items that were taken, they're being used by the young people in our community.
The chromebooks every year, we are booked out solid with young people doing driver theory tests.
Those programmes are booked out through September to May, and that's just not going to happen now.'
