Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following yesterday's fatal traffic collision in north Longford.
A man in his 60's died when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with an SUV on a local road at Cleenrath near Aughnacliffe.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene while the two people in the SUV were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed for a time to allow an examination of the scene.
Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
They'd also like anyone with video footage to make this available to them.
Meanwhile a man in his 80's died in a road traffic collision in Galway yesterday afternoon.
It happened on the M6 westbound between Junction 18 and Junction 19 in County Galway at around 2 o'clock yesterday.
The man who was the driver of one of the cars lost his life in the three car crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 70's and a woman in her 20's are being treated for non-life threatening injuries in University Hospital Galway.
