An appeal has being lodged to An Bord Pleanala over the grant of planning permission for a telecommunications mast in Roscommon.
Cignal Infrastructure Limited were granted permission for the construction of a 30 metre telecommunications lattice tower at Toberiheen in Ballydangan.
The application was granted with five conditions attached including a provision that transmission power output, antennae type, and mounting configuration shall not be altered without a prior grant of planning permission.
The plan was the subject of several submissions from locals in opposition to the construction.
One submission claims that the land selected for the construction is a bog field and unsuitable for construction, while another claims the electromagnetic energy emitted from the tower is harmful to the health of locals.
An Bord Pleanala are due to make their decision in July.
