Longford residents are being reminded that the closing date for entering this year's Longford Rose competition is the end of this months.
It's the first time since 2019 that the county can be represented in the annual completion doe to Covid and the every second year rule for the counties. A special information event for anyone who might have questions about the completion and how it works will take place in the Longford Arms on this Friday evening.
Marie Brady who represented Longford in the 2019 Rose of Tralee says she'd highly recommend the experience where she made close friends.
''Since Covid this is the first time it's back, so it's very exciting for the county and all the contestants that's going to enter. We're appealing to any young women between the ages of 18-29, you can be married and have kids, these are new rules. The closing date for applications is at the end of April and the Longford Rose Centre is holding an information evening this Friday April 21st in The Longford Arms Hotel at 6:30pm so if you have any questions come and ask.''
